Dignity In Development

Discussion
-
A second round of online meetings to explore the concept of dignity in development is being organized. These sessions will build on two virtual conversations that were held on 10 October 2023 (see report here). The conversations will explore how dignity can practically be implemented in programs and daily development work. The next sessions will investigate one of the three pathways to dignity: recognition. This is understood as the feeling of being seen, heard, and represented. The session will explore how development and philanthropic practices can foster or erode recognition, and the implications of this understanding on funding flows, programming, organizational cultures, and the quality of our relationships and interactions in the development and aid systems.
There will be two calls held on 9 November to accommodate various time zones. Register here for the first, and here for the second. Simultaneous Spanish translation will be provided on the second call.
