AHRN is a feminist fund and our mission is to support and empower grassroots movements and individual activists from marginalized communities, with a particular emphasis on women and indigenous groups. We strive to create sustainable and equitable impact by providing resources and support for advocating their rights and well-being. We prioritize funding projects led by young feminist women that promote sustainable development, clean energy, conservation of natural resources, and sexual reproductive health and education. Additionally, we prioritize education and awareness programs that highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and the impact of our actions on the planet.

Our vision is to create a world where all people have equal access to a healthy environment, sexual reproductive health, education, and a sustainable future. To achieve this, we have three main objectives: empowering and supporting young feminist movements across Africa, fostering a vibrant community of young activists through creating platforms for young African feminist activist to connect and guidance to young activists, including land rights and environmental defenders. Our funding approach focuses on grassroots feminist organizations that are led by and serve marginalized communities. We prioritize organizations that address the specific needs and struggles faced by these communities. We engage with the organizations we fund through consultation, feedback, and support for their self-determined goals and priorities. We actively seek feedback and criticism to continually improve our funding practices and policies.

Please note that funding that is currently available is for projects on climate justice and environmental conservation. The maximum amount for the fund is 3000 Euro.
