This is a very interesting piece that touches on how the work of journalists is very closely knit to that of CSOs. The way these CSOs are reported by the media certainly has an impact. Be it positive or negative.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this with examples, if any.

Halima, it runs deeper than this. NGOs are fast understanding that only what is in the media is recognised. This realisation is also throwing up new realities — get the media to publish information on your work or lose the funds that are attracted to publicity. It’s a mix that needs to be carefully managed so it is not abused.

It’s quite a touchy subject and needs a lot of critical thinking on which way to go. As an NGO do I just let my work speak for myself or do I need that media recognition that could possibly misinterpret my organisation’s whole look, vision etc
