Delivering on our Commitment to Increasing Funding Flows

KujaLink funding flows

The focus of the KujaLink team this past month has been on devising new ways to deliver on our commitment to increase direct funding to local and national CSOs.

  • We have begun hosting webinars which help them improve their understanding of philanthropy and how to develop high quality proposals and concept notes. These global and regional webinars are open to site members and include funders and fundraising experts who share resources and take questions from participants.
  • Our community management team regularly posts open opportunities for funding.  A platform member from Malawi applied to a call they found through KujaLink and were invited to begin the due diligence process with a new funder who is interested in supporting their work.

Team members joined the Hilton Foundation Refugee Initiative Conference in Uganda. This was an incredible event that brought together Hilton grantees and partners working on refugee issues. At the partner expo the Kujalink team established valuable connections and meaningful partnerships with organizations that share our vision for increased direct funding to local and national organizations. The conference’s diverse attendees, including government, UN agencies, civil society organizations, refugee leaders, and social enterprises, provided a unique perspective and facilitated fruitful collaborations. Building on this conference we are expanding the inclusion of refugee-led organizations on the platform and actively showcasing their work with funders.

At the 8th East Africa Philanthropy Network (EAPN) Conference in Zanzibar, Kujalink was honored to be panelists in the session “Harnessing Data and Technology for Transformative Philanthropy.” We highlighted the potential of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies in philanthropy. The discussion emphasized the crucial role of platforms and integrated ecosystems in promoting collaboration and maximizing the impact of philanthropic efforts. Witnessing the evolving landscape of philanthropy and the transformative possibilities of data and technology was truly inspiring.
